Application Requirements:

• A fully completed application. All forms are available in the download center to the right.
• A signed signature form
• The health history form & medical release form and a copy of health insurance card front and back.
• A nonrefundable $500 registration deposit is also required in order to secure your place in the program. This deposit is applied to the cost of the tuition. If there is no space or you are not accepted to the program, your deposit will be returned.
• A solo performance video & a video of why you would like to attend the work shop no longer than 3 minutes.
• UNLESS you attend one of the cities on our Step It Up Workshop Tour

After receipt and review of your complete application, one of the directors will notify you of your acceptance to the program by email and official acceptance letter via post.

Final forms and payment are due 5/1/2020.

For acceptances after May 1, all forms and payment are due within 2 weeks of acceptance or immediately if acceptance is granted within two weeks of the workshop start date. Admittance to the workshop is not final until all forms and payment are received.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

+ Dance
The schedule includes jazz, contemporary, hip hop, on camera, choreography, and many more classes that will expose you to different styles and broaden your experience. You'll learn the fundamentals so that you can really excel and "STEP IT UP". You'll also participate in mock up auditions that focus on different outlets, such as back up dancing for music artists, commercials, tours, television, etc. You'll walk away with the essential tools you need to jump start your career as a dancer.

+ Acting
Whether you have taken 1000 acting classes or not even one acting class, acting is a craft that you will work on throughout your career and will help you get opportunities for work. Step It Up offers Intro to Acting, Scene Study and Improv that dancers and actors love taking because of the strong staff of teachers who really strive to push the performer to expand on their overall performance skills, build confidence as an actor, and expose the students to all the opportunities as an actor.

+ Voice
Here is where we concentrate on breathe support and getting over the fear of singing. Students end up feeling so confident after this class! Those who are advanced singers, are thrilled because we talk about the possibilities of where your voice can take you in your career and they get feedback from working professionals in the business.

+ Fitness and Nutrition
Many people overlook how strenuous and stressful dance can be on the body and mind. The foundation of a dancer’s body and health is what's key for a prolonged career. You'll learn proper nutrition, strength and stretching exercises optimal for dancers, preventive care, and mind/body control.

+ Business and Branching Out
You'll learn how to market yourself, develop relationships, and how to stand out among your peers. What are your strengths and what can you work on? What kinds of jobs do you want? Tours? Commercials? Television? Teaching? Choreography? Do you want to branch out into other fields such as acting, singing, or modeling? Many entertainers started out as dancers and we'll expose you to the opportunities out there. Finally, you'll learn how to prepare for a Headshot session, actually take Headshots, and find out what skills and personality you want to show off.

+ FIlm Days
Get an opportunity to dance and act in front of the camera in the entertainment capital of the world. Footage from tape days is showcased in front of industry leaders at the Step It Up Red Carpet Showcase at the end of the program!
